Mumbai Man Kills Lawyer Uncle, Abducts Lawyer’s Mother, All in Name of Property Worth Crores
In the economic stronghold of Maharashtra, a property dispute led to the alleged kidnapping and murder of a Kolhapur lawyer, Vishal Kamble, by his own nephew and four of his aides. The accused were apparently irked by Vishal’s refusal to sign property documents that would have handed over the family’s property to them on a silver platter. As a result, they resorted to despicable means to force him into submission.
Adding to the horror of the situation, the accused also kidnapped Vishal’s elderly mother, Rohini Kamble, and subjected her to torture, spiking her food and pressurizing her to sign the documents as well. The deceased victim is the son of retired DCP Vasant Kamble. The primary accused in the matter has been identified as Pranav Ramteke, 25, son of the deceased victim’s brother Pradeep.
It is believed that the accused had held the deceased victim’s mother captive in a villa in Panvel before moving her to a bungalow in the Royal Palms complex at Aarey in Goregaon, where she was finally found.
The accused had apparently lured Vishal and Rohini out of their hotel room under the pretext of showing them a property in Panvel, only to abduct them and took them to Ajmer in Rajasthan.
They then held them hostage, subjecting them to constant pressure to sign over the properties.
The Facts of the Matter
In a shocking turn of events, a twisted tale of greed and murder has come to light as a youth and his four aides have been arrested for the alleged kidnapping and killing of his own uncle. It seems that the accused were driven by their insatiable desire for wealth and property.

Tussle Over Property Worth Crores
The victim in this tragic tale is Vishal Kamble, a 44-year-old lawyer and son of retired DCP Vasant Kamble, and his mother Rohini, an 80-year-old woman. The dispute between the two families was over a vast tract of land in Kolhapur and a luxurious bungalow in Chembur. The value of the property is said to be worth crores of rupees, and it seems that the family feud had been simmering for quite some time.
Lawyer, his Mother Disappear
Things took a drastic turn when Vishal and Rohini arrived in Mumbai on March 14 for a court hearing related to the property suit. They were staying at a hotel in Chembur, but on April 5, they mysteriously disappeared.
Rohini’s sister Vinaya, who lives in Kurla, sensed something was amiss and immediately went to the police. However, the police did not take any action until April 21, when a missing complaint was finally filed.

Phone Records Analyzed
It was only after an analysis of Vishal’s phone records that the police were able to track down a mobile number that he had last spoken to. The mobile belonged to a retired BEST bus driver named Munir Pathan, who was one of the accused in the case.
As the investigation progressed, a disturbing picture emerged. The accused had lured Vishal and Rohini out of the hotel under the pretext of showing them a property in Panvel, but instead, they abducted them.

The Incessant Torture, The Grave Step
The gang took them to Ajmer in Rajasthan and held them captive, pressuring them to sign over the properties. When Vishal refused to comply, they killed him and dumped his body by the Ahmedabad highway while returning to Mumbai. They then held Rohini captive in a villa in Panvel, and later moved her to a bungalow in the Royal Palms complex at Aarey in Goregaon.
The accused had been spiking her food and torturing her to sign over the property papers, and she had been hospitalized due to the ordeal.
Five of the accused, including the prime accused, Pranav Ramteke, have been arrested, and a hunt is on for two more.
