Rishabh Pant Hospitalized in Roorkee After Horrific Car Crash, Footage Shows Pant’s Mercedes Crashing

Indian wicketkeeper and batter Rishabh Pant was hospitalized in Roorkee after meeting with a horrific car accident with videos now surfacing showing Pant’s Mercedes crashing into a road divider. The near-fatal accident occurred earlier on Friday early morning when the batter was traveling in his Mercedes Mercedes-AMG GLE43 Coupe. While the actor has been reported to be out of danger, he has suffered injuries to his head, back and neck.

According to reports, Pant was on his way from Delhi to his hometown Roorkee when his car crashed into a road divider and caught fire immediately. While it has not been confirmed yet, various news outlets have stated that Pant may have dozed off behind the wheel the moment his car was heading towards the divider.

Dr. Ashish Yagnik, Max Hospital, Dehradun, was quoted in an India Today giving an update regarding the matter. “Cricketer Rishabh Pant is under the observation of Orthopedics & plastic surgeons. His condition is stable. His detailed medical bulletin will be released once he’s examined. Thereafter, we’ll take the next steps”, he said.

Visuals surfacing on Twitter shows Pant’s Mercedes heading speedily towards a road divider and enduring a horrific impact. Such was the impact that the car looks completely quashed. Other images on Twitter shows Pant lying unconscious with injury on his head.

The Facts of the Matter

Star Indian wicketkeeper and batter, Rishabh Pant, who played the pivotal in India winning the Border Gavaskar trophy 2021, recently met with a near-fatal road accident. The 25-year-old star Indian cricketer has since been hospitalized and receiving treatment for injuries on his head and neck. Pant was reportedly in Uttarakhand when he met with the accident.

According to reports, the actor is out of danger and is condition is currently stable. Following his accident, CCTV footage showing the exact moment when his car crashed into a road divider, surfaced on Twitter.

CCTV Footage Shows Horrific Accident

CCTV footage making rounds of social media shows the relatively empty highway when the accident happened. At one point in the video, one can see a speeding car crashing into a divider. The impact of the collision is such that the car is flung several feets in the air and thrown on the other side.

In a separate video following the accident, an eye-witness is seen capturing the completely damaged Mercedes engulfed in flames.

Pant Dozed Off While Driving

As per the police, Pant was traveling from Delhi to Roorkee and was driving the car himself when it collided with a divider sometime around 5.30 am. As per reports, Pant had dozed off behind the wheel, losing control of the car and hitting the divider before being flung out of the windscreen. The luxury car was damaged and charred in no time, and it took hours to douse the fire.

While Pant didn’t sustain severe injuries, he is reported to have suffered from several lacerations on his head and around his eye. He has also sustained a significant ligament tear on his knee, skin damage on his back and some minor burns.

There have been no fractures reported in the initial X-rays taken.

Following his accident, Pant has received support from various cricketers and members of the cricketing fraternity, including his Delhi Capitals head coach Rishabh Pant, former Indian batter Virendra Sehwag, and BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
