Rhino Chases Down Tourists for 3 km in Kaziranga National Park, Assam | Watch Video here
A rhino in Kaziranga National Park gave some tourists a trip to remember after giving their jeeps a chase for 3 km. The hair-raising video of the incident shows the one-horned rhino galloping swiftly behind a slew of safari jeeps. The tourists in the jeep can be heard shouting the vehicles ahead them to speed further and move their cars ahead so as to not get involved in any mishap. The jungle safari thriller was reported from Assam’s famous Kaziranga National Park, which is famous for its rhino population.
Interestingly enough, the video comes just hours after a similar incident was reported from Manas National Park, Assam, where some tourists were chased by a rhino who was not willing to give up on the chase. In that particular video, the rhino can be seen rushing towards the vehicle at a speed which is unprecedented for any animal weighing in tonnes.
The driver of the jeep speeds the vehicle and tries to evade the chase. However, the rhino can be seen not giving up on the chase for quite some time. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident, which took place earlier on December 29.
For the unversed, rhinos can pick up speed up to 34 mph (54 kmph).
The Facts of the Matter
As per a recent survey, the population of the one-horned rhinoceros at the Assam’s Kaziranga National Park increased by 200, taking the overall population of the endangered species to 2,613. Thanks to rehabilitation and anti-poaching efforts, the endangered heavyweight animal has found a safe haven in Assam, and tourists from across the world come to feast their eyes with the sight of the famous one-horned rhino.
However, recently, some tourists got the thrill of their life, when a rhino for some reason decided to give them a chase. Shockingly enough, the rhino did not give up on the chase, and ran after the tourists for as much as 3 km.
The video of the incident has since been making rounds of social media, and is going viral.
What Does the Video Show
In the video gone viral, a slew of jeeps is seen trying to evade the rhino which is chasing them. Some men in the jeeps are shouting at the drivers of the jeeps ahead of them to pick up their speed and not let any untoward incident due to the slow speed. At one point, the rhino can be seen going back in the bushes, and then emerging again, giving the jeeps a long chase.

Similar Incident Took Place at Manas National Park
Interestingly enough, a similar incident took place at Manas National Park and the video of the same surfaced on social media on the same day as the video of Kaziranga National Park did. In Manas National Park video, a rhino can be seen galloping towards a jeep, which tries to pick up speed to make sure the tourists enjoying the ride are safe and no casualties occur due to the rhino’s act.
