Condolences have been pouring in for PM Modi after his mother Hiraba reportedly died at the age of 100. The deceased mother of the Indian Prime Minister was cremated in Gandhi Nagar, and visuals have been surfacing on social media, showing PM Modi giving shoulder to Hiraba’s mortal remains. According to reports, she was admitted in UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre where she breathed last sometime around 3.30 am on December 30.
Taking to Twitter, PM Modi himself gave an update regarding his mother’s demise and wrote, “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values,” his tweet read.
Earlier on Wednesday, PM Modi flew from Delhi to Ahmedabad and visited his ailing mother who was hospitalized after experiencing breathing issues. After spending an hour with her mother and getting more insight from the doctor, PM Modi left the government-run hospital.
Following her demise, various leaders of different political factions and backgrounds have broken ranks to express grief and extend support for the Prime Minister. This includes TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and more.
The Facts of the Matter
Hours after it was reported that she is doing well and will be discharged soon, PM Modi’s mother Hiraba died earlier on December 30 sometime around 3.30 am. The ailing mother of the Indian Prime Minister was admitted in the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, where she was admitted earlier on Wednesday after breathing issues.
Earlier on Friday, the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre floated a bulletin and confirmed the demise of Hiraba Modi.

“Glorious Century…”: PM Modi’s Heartfelt Tribute
Prime Minister Modi himself took to Twitter and shared a heartfelt tribute message in the wake of his mother’s passing. “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values”, the tweet read.
Video Shows PM Modi Taking Past in Last Rites
On Friday morning, several pictures and videos surfaced on social media, showing Prime Modi taking part in the last rites of his mother who passed away at 100. The last rites were performed at in Gandhinagar’s Sector 30.

News agency ANI also shared pictures of PM Modi giving shoulder to his mother’s mortal remains in the crematorium.
It should be noted that PM Modi left for Ahmedabad for the rest of his day’s schedule. He is slated to flag off the Vande Bharat train in Howrah, Kolkata under the Namami Gange plans on video conference. He is also scheduled to take part in the National Ganga Council through video conferencing.

Following her demise, political leaders from various factions broke ranks to condole Hiraba’s death. This included Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, NCP leader Ajit Pawar, and more.
