“Absolute Invasion of Privacy”: Virat Kohli Reacts After Clip of his Hotel Room Goes Viral
Former Indian team skipper Virat Kohli reacted critically after clip of his hotel room went viral on social media. “? “I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people’s privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment,” a part of Kohli’s reaction statement read on his Instagram.
The shocking footage showed the video capturing person entering Kohli’s room when he wasn’t present and showing his accessories and wardrobe, including his shoes, skin-care products, and even his clothes. A part of the video shows the person capturing it come towards the mirror, which reflected two more persons dressed in formal attire. Kohli has been left understandably fuming and agitated because of the apparent privacy invasion.
“I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy,” Kohli’s reaction statement further read.
Meanwhile, Kohli’s wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma also reacted to the same, and wrote – “An absolute disgrace and violation of a human being and anyone who sees this and thinks celebrity ho! Toh deal karna padega should know that you are also part of the problem.”

While Kohli has time and time again drawn a line between his private and personal lines, there are certain incidents that has shook his faith in having a private life of his own.

One such incident occurred recently where a group of people broke into Kohli’s hotel room, and took a video in his absence. The person recording the video was accompanied by two other men, who were seen wearing formal attire thanks to the reflection of wardrobe mirror. The person recording the video proudly panned the camera all over Kohli’s room, putting his clothes, skin care products, and other accessories, on display.

“Very Paranoid”: Kohli Reacts
Kohli has not taken the incident lightly. Taking to Instagram, Kohli shared the same clip with a strongly worded statement that read – “I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy.”
“If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people’s privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment,” his statement further read.
Ashneer Grover, David Warner Come in Kohli’s Support
Various celebrities, cricketers and influencers took to the comments section in support of Kohli. Australian batter David Warner commented – “This is ridiculous, totally unacceptable. Was this @crownperth.”
Shark Tank judge and BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover also had his two cents to share and commented – “This is shameful. What’s the hotel and World Cup organisers security doing ?”.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma also reshared the video on her story with an equally strong worded caption.
