Veteran Television Actor Rasik Dave Dies at 65, Television Fraternity Mourns at the Loss

On Friday, veteran television actor Rasik Dave died at 65 due to medical complications. Following his demise, television fraternity mourned at the loss and several prominent people took to Twitter to condole Dave’s death.

Rasik was the husband of Ketki Dave, popular Gujarati actor, who acted in films like Mann, Kal Ho Naa Ho, I Hate Luv Storys, and more. Ketki also essayed a role in Ekta Kapoor produced Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

According to reports, Rasik Dave passed earlier on Friday night due to 65. The actor’s last rites will be performed on Saturday. According to an ETimes report, the actor had been on a dialysis for the past two years, and his kidneys had continued to worsen. The actor’s last one month was extremely painful, ETimes reported.

Following his demise, actor JD Majethia took to Twitter and condoled the death. “Heartbroken and deeply saddened to hear about the untimely demise of Rasik Dave. Gone too soon brother. May God give your family the strength to get through his difficult time. Om Shanti🙏🏻”, the actor and producer’s tweet read.

Popular on Gujarati film circuit, Rasik started his career in ‘Putra Vadhu’. He also appeared in ‘Nach Baliye’ with his wife Ketki back in 2006.

The Facts of the Matter

On Friday, the Indian entertainment industry lost another actor in the form of Rasik Dave. The popular Gujarati and Hindi television and film actor was 65. According to reports, the actor died due to kidney failure and passed away sometime around 8 pm on Friday evening.

For the unversed, Rasik Dave played the character of Nand in extremely popular mythology show Mahabharat. Rasik is survived by his wife Ketki Dave, who is also an equally famous television actress.

Survived by Popular Actress Ketki Dave

Ketki is still known for her role of Daksha Virani in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. Keti also starred in films like Kal Ho Na Ho, Mann and I Hate Luv Stories. In several of her roles, Ketki essayed the role of a Gujarati woman.

Rasik is survived by his daughter Riddhi and son Abhishek. The actor’s last rites will be performed on Saturday.

Suffering from Kidney Ailments

According to reports, Rasik had been suffering with various kidney-related issues. For the past two years, the actor had been on dialysis. In the past couple of months, his kidneys continued to deteriorate and the last month turned out to be the most painful one for him.

Netizens Mourn loss of Rasik Dave

Following his demise, many prominent netizens, which also included prominent figures from entertainment industry, took to Twitter and expressed their shock and grief.

Filmmaker and producer Ashoke Pandit took to Twitter and wrote a message which read, “Sad to know about the demise of a dear friend Rasik Dave who was a versatile actor on stage , tv and films due to kidney failure. Heartfelt condolences to his wife Ketaki Dave and his entire family . Will always be remembered . ॐ शान्ति !”.

JD Majethia, known for his work in popular comedy shows like Khichdi, Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, Instant Khichdi, and more, also condoled the death of the Gujarati veteran actor.

“Heartbroken and deeply saddened to hear about the untimely demise of Rasik Dave. Gone too soon brother. May God give your family the strength to get through his difficult time. Om Shanti,” his tweet read.

Life and Times of Rasik Dave

According to reports, Rasik was popular in the Gujarati television and theater circuit. He also went on to essay the role of Nand in Mahabharat. The actor played character of Karsandas Dhansukhlal Vaishnav in Sanskaar. Further, he also participated with his wife in Nach Baliye 2 back in 2006. The actor ran a theatre company with his wife Ketki.
