Murali Vijay Gets Involved in Ugly Altercation with Spectators Taunting with “DK” Chants

Recently, Indian cricket team opener Murali Vijay got involved in an ugly altercation with spectators chanting “DK” during a match of TNPL 2022. Had a security personnel not intervened, things could’ve taken a drastic turn. The ugly spat between the crowd and Vijay occurred during a group stage match played between Madurai Partners and Ruby Trichy Warriors.

According to reports, Vijay was brought to the ground a substitute fielder near the boundary line. This was when the crowd near the boundary ropes started chanting “DK…DK”, in an attempt to infuriate Vijay and get a reaction out of him. Allegedly, Karthik’s first wife Nikita Vanjara had an affair with Murali Vijay and the Vijay and Vanjara later decided to tie the knot as well.

Since then, there have been times when Murali Vijay is teased by crowds with the name of Dinesh Karthik, the current lower-order Indian batsman for T20 team. In the most recent altercation, video shows Murali Vijay losing his cool and letting the crowds and their taunts get to him.

He was seen jumping the boundary rope and coming closer towards the crowd. Just in time, a security personnel steps in and intervenes before the hot headed former Indian opener could get involved in something more dramatic.

The Facts of the Matter

While we treat cricketers as Gods reincarnated as humans, and as celebrities above and beyond all, we forget that they too have the same heart, same mind, and same body as us. They too have their fair share of personal issues, and can retaliate the same way as we do, when those issues are brought about in open.

Recently, something similar was in display where former Indian opener Murali Vijay got into an ugly altercation with spectators during a TNPL 2022 match. The right-handed opening batsman let his anger get the best of him when crowd started teasing him by the name of “DK”.

The entire ordeal was caught on video, visuals of which are making rounds of social media.

Video Shows Murali Vijay’s Altercation with Crowd

The video of the incident shows crowd chanting Dinesh Karthik’s nickname “DK..DK..”. Murali Vijay, who’s on the ground, near the boundary rope as a substitute fielder, humble asks the crowd to calm down. He joins his hand and asks people to maintain decorum.

However, when a crowd feels they are beyond punishment, they turn into a mob. The crowd in the stadium exhibited something similar when they further intensified their chanting.

This clearly enraged Murali Vijay, who can be seen coming closer to the spectators by climbing the boundary rope. He’s also seen having a physical altercation with one of the spectators when security intervened and the chaos was brought to order.

The crowd started taunting Murali Vijay by Karthik’s name because of the twisted connection the two share. According to reports, Karthik’s first wife, Nikita Vijara, allegedly had an affair with Murali Vijay. The duo also went on to get married after she seriated with Karthik. They are parents to two sons and a daughter.
