In a concerning development reported from Rajasthan, 2 Muslim men allegedly beheaded a Hindu man in broad daylight, and further threatened PM Modi in a video going viral on social media. Following the horrific incident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took to Twitter and condemned the killing of the Hindu victim.

“I condemn the heinous murder of youth in Udaipur. Strict action will be taken against all the criminals involved in this incident and the police will go to the bottom of the crime. I appeal to all parties to maintain peace. Strictest punishment will be given to every person involved in such heinous crime,” CM Gehlot’s tweet read.

CM Gehlot further appealed netizens to not further reshare the video adding that “by sharing the video, the criminal’s purpose of spreading hatred in the society will be successful”.

According to an India Today report, the two accused took responsibility of killing the man over support of Nupur Sharma. The report also mentioned that the murder came after the shopkeeper’s 8-year-old son put up post supporting now-exiled BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

In another video, the alleged accused also threatened Indian Prime Minister and one of the many faces of BJP, Narendra Modi.

Tension sparked across the city of Udaipur following the gruesome crime with CM Gehlot appealing citizens to maintain calm.

The Facts of the Matter

In multiple shocking videos making rounds of social media, a Hindu tailor is seen being beheaded by two Muslim men in Udaipur. The two accused were also seen threatening Prime Minister Modi in a separate video, taking responsibility of the killing. According to reports, the accused took the victim’s life over his support for now exiled BJP leader Nupur Sharma.

According to an India Today report, the incident transpired after the 8-year-old son of the victim put up a post supporting Nupur Sharma.

The Nupur Sharma Controversy

Nupur Sharma was in the news earlier in June for making objectionable remarks against Prophet Muhammad during a television debate. Sharma’s remarks caused outrage on social media and India’s diplomacy with Gulf countries was put on line with several ambassadors calling out Sharma.

Nupur Sharma Skipping Summons by Police

Following her remarks, she was suspended and Indian embassy issued a statement claiming Sharma’s comments were not a reflection of the views of Indian government. Since her suspension, Sharma has skipped summons by Kolkata and Mumbai police.

Accused of Udaipur Killing Identified

Reportedly, the police have already identified the two accused and a manhunt is on to nab the culprits. An India Today report quoted the Udaipur Superintendent of Police assuring that an investigation will be conducted in the matter and action will be taken against the men who have taken responsibility of the act.

Rajasthan CM Condemns Killing, Urges People to Not Share Video

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took to Twitter to condemn the actions committed by the culprits. “I condemn the heinous murder of youth in Udaipur. Strict action will be taken against all the criminals involved in this incident and the police will go to the bottom of the crime. I appeal to all parties to maintain peace. Strictest punishment will be given to every person involved in such heinous crime.,” CM Gehlot tweeted.

In a a separate tweet, CM Gehlot urged the netizens to not share the video further. “I appeal to everyone not to try to spoil the atmosphere by sharing the video of this incident. By sharing the video, the criminal’s purpose of spreading hatred in the society will be successful,” the tweet read.
