Pop Sensation Tarsame Singh aka Taz, Who Sung ‘Nachange Saari Raat’, Passes Away at 54
In a shocking turn-of-events, pop sensation Tarsame Singh aka Taz, who was part of Stereo Nation and sung ‘Nachange Saari Raat’ among many pop songs, recently passed away at 54. The Stereo Nation lead singer was known for being the pioneer of Asian fusion music and transcending borders was credited for giving several hits, including ‘Its Magic.. (Koi Mil Gaya), ‘Gallan Gorian’, ‘Daroo Vich Pyar’ (Tum Bin), etc. According to reports the 90s pop-sensation had suffered a liver failure and had later slipped into coma, following which he passed away at an age of 54.
It should be noted that fans of Stereo Nation had kept their fingers crossed, praying for Tarsame Singh to come out of his ailments. A few weeks back, a health update also left the Stereo Nation lead singer’s fanbase with some hope.
The update, shared by Stereo Nation team, read, “Dear All, Taz Sir is no longer in a coma, He’s showing improvements every day. The family has thanked everyone for their support and prayers during this difficult time. When there is more positive news, The family will let us all know. Thanks again for your positive thoughts”.
Following his demise, many influential netizens on Twitter took to the social media platform to condole the death and share what Tarsame Singh’s music meant to them.
The Facts of the Matter
Most 90s kids today would remember a few songs that made the soundtrack of their teen life. This included Maeri by Euphoria, O Sanam by Lucky Ali, Made in India by Alisha Chinai, and many many more. Among these songs, an absolute party-popper of a song came from a pop band Stereo Nation called “Nachenge Saari Raat”.

Taz Was Suffering from Multiple Ailments
Recently, the lead singer of Stereo Nation, and the voice behind “Nachange Saari Raat”,Tarsame Singh aka Taz, passed away. He was 54. The popular 90s singer passed away earlier on 29th April, after suffering from a liver failure. Further, the singer was suffering from Hernia which had worsened around the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Slipping Into Coma, Recovering, Eventual Demise
Earlier in March this year, further reports of his deteriorating health emerged, following which it was reported that the singer had fallen into coma following liver failure. However, it was later reported by Taz’s management team that he had come out of a coma which was a sign of an improvement.
“Dear All, Taz Sir is no longer in a coma, He’s showing improvements every day. The family has thanked everyone for their support and prayers during this difficult time. When there is more positive news, The family will let us all know. Thanks again for your postive thoughts,” the singer’s team had shared a health update.
Influential Musicians & Filmmakers Pay Tribute to Taz
Meanwhile, following his demise, social media is flooded with tribute and condolence messages by musicians, friends and fans.
Bhangra singer and B21 band member Jassi Sidhu took to Twitter to condole Taz’s demise. Just heard the heartbreaking news about @tazstereonation. From my 1st ever tour alongside him in 1999 to now was always a gentleman. Made pop bhangra that we all hear now decades ago & took it to the masses a pioneer. Your legacy lives on in your music my brother,” Sidhu tweeted.

British singer-songwriter Navin Kundra called Taz a trailblazer in his tribute message and tweeted, “Shocked & saddened to hear @tazstereonation has passed away. He was a trailblazer who created a unique type of fusion and I loved his music! Thanks for the inspiration and the music Taz-it was a blessing to share the stage with you. You left us too soon 💔 Rest In Peace & Power”

Taz Won “Best International Artist” At UK Asian Music Awards
Taz made it to the charts back in 1989 with Stereo Nation’s first album ‘Hit the Deck’. The album was so huge that it spent 36 weeks on the UK Asian pop chart’s top. Such was the impact his music had, that all but just two of his albums went on to receive the gold platinum and multi-platinum disc. In 2005, he went on to win the ‘Best International Artist’ at the UK Asian Music Awards.
