Ukraine Defence Tweet Depicts Goddess Kali in Awkward Pose

On Sunday, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense stirred up a major controversy when they shared a piece of artwork on their official Twitter page that featured an offensive depiction of Hindu goddess Kali. The illustration showed the deity with an “upskirt moment” that bore a striking resemblance to Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe.

This elicited a strong response from Indians who expressed their outrage on the Twitter handle of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense. The artwork in question showed Kali with her signature blue-colored skin, a wreath of skulls, and her tongue stuck out. Many users were appalled by the portrayal and commented, “Shocking!
