Delhi Man Kills Wife for Being “Lazy” and Not Cooking for him, Wife Was Anemic & Became Mother Recently
In a blood-curdling incident reported from Delhi, a man killed his wife for allegedly “being lazy” and not cooking for him, knowing fully well she was unwell due to being anemic and had recently become a mother of his child. The mind-numbing incident once again sheds light on women’s safety in India, and how they continued to be targeted over the most trivial of matters.
According to reports, the 22-year-old woman, Preeti, being allegedly murdered by her husband, Bajrangi Gupta. The incident occurred in the outer Bhalswa Dairy area of the city, where the couple lived together.
According to police officials, Preeti was anaemic and weak after recently giving birth to a child, making it difficult for her to carry out daily household chores. Her husband, Bajrangi, who is 29 years old, would frequently berate her for being “lazy” and “uninterested” in domestic work. Matters came to a head on Sunday night when Bajrangi returned home from work and found no food on the table.
Bajrangi picked up a wooden stick and began assaulting Preeti, causing her to collapse. He then fled the house, leaving Preeti severely injured. Her family members rushed her to Burari Hospital, but tragically, Preeti was declared brought dead by the authorities.
The Facts of the Matter
In a shocking incident, a man in the outer Bhalswa Dairy area of Delhi has been arrested for the brutal murder of his ailing wife. Bajrangi Gupta, a mere 29 years old, is alleged to have bludgeoned his wife Preeti to death with a wooden stick in a fit of rage.

Wife was Recovering from Childbirth
Preeti, who was just 22 years old, was already weakened by anemia and the physical toll of recent childbirth, rendering her unable to carry out household chores and cook regularly.
Her husband, however, seemed to lack any empathy for her situation and accused her of being “lazy” and “uninterested” in domestic work.
Heated Argument Ensues
On the fateful Sunday night, Bajrangi arrived home from work, expecting a meal on the table, only to find none. A heated argument ensued, and soon, the altercation turned violent. In a vicious attack, he mercilessly beat his frail wife, causing her to collapse in a pool of blood. After ensuring her demise, he fled the scene, leaving his wife’s family to rush her to the hospital.

Investigation Initiated
Despite their best efforts, Preeti was declared dead on arrival by the medical authorities at Burari Hospital. The grief-stricken family immediately informed the police, and an investigation was launched.
During interrogation, Bajrangi shockingly admitted to his crime, revealing that he had killed his wife in a fit of anger. The police later found the wooden stick used by Bajrangi to bludgeon his wife to death.
Husband had a Violent Streak
It was also revealed that Bajrangi had a history of physically abusing his wife and that he had assaulted her on several occasions before. Despite the autopsy report indicating that Preeti suffered from internal injuries and bled to death, her husband remained unremorseful.
On Monday, the police registered a case against the husband under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, and immediately formed a team to track down the accused who had fled the scene. The team managed to apprehend Gupta a day later, along with the weapon of offense, the wooden stick, which was recovered from his possession.
