Bengaluru Biker Collide with Techie Couple’s Car Deliberately, Chases Them in Extortion Bid Video

A Bengaluru-based biker were caught on video colliding with a techie couple’s car deliberately, and then chasing them in an extortion bid. The incident was caught on video, thanks to a dash cam the couple had installed in the car. Following the video going viral on social media, the two accused men were arrested for intimidation and extortion. The incident took place at Doddakannelli on Sarjapur Main Road.

In the video gone viral, a car can be seen colliding with a bike being driven by a man and another riding pillion. The bike riders get off their vehicle, and start threatening the driver and the woman he was driving with, to get out of the car. The couple stay put in the car, and start reversing it. However, the bikers start chasing the car, and even hit the windows. According to reports, they chased the couple in the car for 5km, till they reached their society.

Deputy commissioner of police (Whitefield) S Girish, was quoted in a TOI report saying, “The act of the suspects seems to be deliberate. It looked like they deliberately hit the car and tried to indulge in a clash to extort money.”

The suspects in the matter were identified as Dhanush and Rakshit.

The Facts of the Matter

While incidents of prejudices, discrimination, corruption, and incidents of targeted violence continue to rise at a concerning speed, incidents of extortion by different ways also pose a threat to a common man’s right to live in peace and dignity. In yet another such incident reported from Karnataka’s Bengaluru, a Bengaluru-based biker was caught on cam deliberately colliding with a couple’s car, and chasing them in an extortion bid.

The shocking incident was caught on cam, visuals of which are going viral. The incident took place on the wee hours of Sunday at Doddakannelli on Sarjapur Main Road when Ankita and Kush Jaiswal were heading to their society. The dashcam set up in their car recorded the entire ordeal.

What Does the Video Show

In the now gone viral video, a biker and a man sitting pillion can be seen coming from other direction and colliding with the car in a deliberate fashion.

Later, the two men can be seen approaching the couple and demanding that they get out of the car. The couple stays put and starts backing away. However, the two men starts to chase the couple, and various reports claim that they chased the couple till they reached their society. Reportedly, the men also started slamming the car windows.

“Miscreants collided purposefully”

The video surfaced thanks to a Twitter handle which captioned the incident with – “Horrific incident reported on Sarjapur road near Sofas & More around 3 am today. Miscreant riders collided purposefully to a couple traveling in car. They chased the car for 5km till their society in Chikkanayakanahalli. Don’t open your car in night. Use dash cam”.

Case Registered, Suspects Nabbed

A case was registered against the two suspects under multiple sections of the IPC including Sections 384 (extortion), Section 504 (intentional insult), and Section 506 (criminal intimidation).

S Girish, Deputy commissioner of police (Whitefield), was quoted in a TOI report saying, “The act of the suspects seems to be deliberate. It looked like they deliberately hit the car and tried to indulge in a clash to extort money.”

The suspects in the matter were identified as Dhanush and his employer Rakshit.
