In Bengaluru, two women were stripped and brutally assaulted for not repaying a loan. The police have drawn flak from the locals for filing an FIR two days after the incident. The incident was reported from Bengaluru’s Sarjapura in Doddabommasandra.

According to a TNM report, the victims were forced to stripped, brutally thrashed by the accused men. The accused had barged in the victim’s residence and cornered them over the loan repayment delay.

As per the police complaint filed by the victims, accused Ramakrishna Reddy, along with Sunil Kumar and Indramma, barged into their home, stripped them and assaulted them black and blue, with injuries all over their back, thighs and private regions.

Meanwhile, the police have drawn the flak for delay in action in connection with the incident. Reports claim that the police filed the report two days after the incident, after pictures of injuries succumbed by women made their way to social media.

As per the complaint, one of the victims took a loan of Rs. 1 lakh at a whopping 30% interest for her children’s education from the accused. Meanwhile, the police have alleged that the two women borrowed a total of about Rs. 1 crore from 10 to 15 lenders.

Meanwhile, a case was registered at the local police station and accused Ramakrishna and his son Sunil Kumar were arrested.

The Facts of the Matter

Due to increase in spending aspiration, along with a significant rise in inflation, people are taking loans more than ever in Indian history. A borrower is left with a significant amount of money that they may need, and use it wisely. However, they are also left vulnerable to collection agents in the case of not being able to repay the loan.

Women Face Wrath of Money Lenders

Recently, two women in Bengaluru faced the wrath and violence of their lenders who allegedly stripped them and assaulted them black and blue for not repaying the loan. The incident was reported from Doddabommasandra, in Begnaluru’s Sarjapura.

According to complaint filed by the victims, three men barged into their residence, stripped them, and then assaulted them, seeking the amount that was lent to them, along with the 30 percent interest. The case has also shed light on the inaction by the police who have been accused of delay in action, filing the FIR two days after the women raised complaint about the matter.

Victims Sustained Injuries on Back, Thighs

According to the complaint filed by the victims, Ramakrishna Reddy, Sunil Kumar and Indramma barged into their home and confronted them over the loan repayment. Seeking the loan principal, along with thirty percent interest, the accused stripped the women and thrashed them brutally. The victims sustained injuries on their back, thighs, and legs.

Loan of Rs. 1 lakh on 30% Interest was Taken

Reportedly, one of the victims had taken a Rs. 1 lakh loan at 30% interest for her children’s education from the accused. When she was asked to pay the entire loan, the villagers had brokered an agreement that once their land is sold, the woman would repay the loan. However, despite the contract agreed on, the accused forced his way into their home and did what he did.

Police Blamed for Delay in Action

Meanwhile, police are being blamed for not registering complaint timely. According to a TNM report, the victims and accused had given a written letter saying that they would handle the matter internally. When the accused assaulted the women earlier on Tuesday, they went to the station and filed a complaint on June 28.

Accused Arrested

The police have arrested the accused Ramakrishna Reddy and Sunil Kumar for assault to woman with intent to disrobe. They are currently on the lookout for third accused. The police have also mentioned that the two women borrowed Rs 1 crore from 10-15 lenders.
