In a tragic incident reported from Tamil Nadu, a 9-year-old influencer, being reported as ‘reels queen’ took her own life after her father asked her to study. The incident was reported from Tamil Nadu’s Thiruvallur and occurred earlier on Monday this week. The victim in the matter studied in class 4 and had created as many as 70 reels on social media to garner following.
Pratiksha, a vivacious nine-year-old, had gained a reputation as the “reels queen” among her friends and neighbors, thanks to her incredible creativity and infectious personality. But on a fateful night, tragedy struck. Pratiksha was playing with her friends outside her grandmother’s house when her parents arrived on the scene.
They scolded her in front of her friends, angry that she was playing outside so late. They ordered her to go home and study, giving her the house keys before leaving to buy groceries.
When her parents returned home, they found the door to their house locked from the inside. Despite their frantic attempts to enter the house, Pratiksha did not respond. Fearing the worst, her father broke down the door, only to find his beloved daughter hanging from a window grill.
As the investigation unfolded, the role of social media in her death was brought to light by an investigating officer.

‘Reels Queen’ A Class 4 Student
Tragedy struck a town in Tiruvallur as a 9-year-old girl, popularly known as the ‘reels queen’ and ‘insta queen’, ended her life by hanging from a window grill. The deceased, Pratiksha was a class 4 student who had gained quite a following on social media, thanks to her 70 reels that she had been creating for the past six months.
Parents Scolded Deceased for Not Studying
On Tuesday, Pratiksha was playing with her friends near her grandmother’s house, oblivious to the fact that it would be her last day alive. Her parents, Krishnamoothy and Karpagam, caught sight of her and scolded her for not studying. They handed her the house keys and left to run errands.
After an hour, the parents returned home to find the house latched from the inside. Despite repeatedly ringing the doorbell, there was no answer.
Father Heartbroken, Community Shocked
Krishnamoothy’s heart sank as he broke open the door only to discover his daughter’s lifeless body hanging from the window grill.
The police quickly arrived on the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death. Sadly, despite the efforts of doctors, Pratiksha was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The news of Pratiksha’s suicide sent shock waves through the community, leaving her neighbors struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.

Chennai Influencer Robs to Maintain Lavish Lifestyle
A 33-year-old woman from Chennai, who identifies herself as a social media influencer, was arrested by Tamil Nadu police for stealing cash and jewellery from a locked house. She confessed to committing the theft to fund her lavish lifestyle. The police tracked her down through CCTV footage and arrested her after she was found riding a scooter without a number plate.
