Shark Tank India’s Peyush Bansal Offers Rare “Blank Cheque” to Ajinkya Dhariya for ‘Padcare’

In an interesting turn of events, Shark Tank India’s Peyush Bansal recently offered a rare blank cheque to Pune-based entrepreneur Ajinkya Dhariya for his company ‘Padcare’. Moreover, the other sharks in the show were so impressed with Ajinkya’s business idea and vision, that they ended up offering him a lucrative deal and even fighting for his attention on them. Sony shared a promo earlier with a caption that read – “First time in the history, Sharks ne Ajinkya ko offer ki munhmangi deal.”

In Shark Tank India, entrepreneurs are prepared to negotiate with all their might to bring down the equity percentage a shark-investor is offering. Often, entrepreneurs are also disheartened when their business venture is not accepted as an investment opportunity and are forced to leave the stage empty handed.

For Pune-based Ajinkya, tables were turned over. Ajinkya came to the stage, seeking Rs 50 lakhs for 2% equity in his sanitary napkin disposal business ‘Padcare’. Ajinkya explained that the company aims to dispose sanitary pads in a more dignified manner and recycle its plastic waste.

By the end, Sharks were left impressed with Ajinkya’s vision, with Peyush Bansal going as far as saying, “Quote your amount” saying that he is willing to pay double whatever Ajinkya is seeking.

The Facts of The Matter

Regular viewers of Shark Tank India would know how difficult it is go get an appropriate and lucrative at the show. The show’s judges, Anupam Mittal, Peyush Bansal, Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, often give entrepreneurs a tough deal, and are called ‘sharks’ for a reason.

However, in a rare turn of events an entrepreneur was offered a ‘blank cheque’ by Lenskart co-founder Peyush Bansal. Moreover, other sharks also remained impressed with the business idea, throwing lucrative deals at him and ultimately shake hands.

Ajinkya Presents “Padcare”

Ajinkya Dhariya, a Pune-based Entrepreneur had appeared on the show, seeking Rs 50 lakhs for 2% of equity in his company ‘Padcare’. The company’s business is producing and selling sanitary pad disposal machines and also initiating ways where disposed pads are reused and recycled.

In the show, Peyush Bansal was left aww-struck at the genius and the vision of Ajinkya.

Peyush Bansal Offers Ajinkya Blank Cheque

Peyush was so impressed with Ajinkya that he offered him a blank cheque. In a promo video, Peyush was heard asking, “1 chahiye, 1.25 chahiye, 1.5 chahiye, 2 chahiye, 2.5 chahiye, jo aap loge wo lelo aapki valuation. Ya to aap genius ho ya lucky ho (either you are genius or just lucky).”

However, Vineeta tried to put an end to the ordeal and shouted, to which Peyush said, “Dekho main to karunga deal, tumhe karna, nahi karna wo dekh lena.” Further, he turns to Ajinkya and says, “Aap amount batado, percent aapne bata dia, mujhe negotiate nahi karna (you tell me the amount, you have already told the percentage, I don’t want to negotiate further).”

Other Sharks Fight to Take Bite of the Deal

Meanwhile, Anupam Mittal accepted Ajinkya to meet on his terms, while Vineeta and Namita joined forces. Aman Gupta too remained in praises, and complimented Ajinkya saying, “You are the real Padman. You have not done MBA and even though you have all the answers to the questions. It’s a very good thing.”

All Sharks Shake Hands with Ajinkya

Eventually, Ajinka expressed his desire that all the four sharks come together and make him an offer. The sharks contemplated and eventually shook hands with Ajinkya, offering him Rs 1 crore for 4% equity.

On Padcare’s website, the company’s mission statement reads – “To make modern sanitation choices safer and recyclable for women across the world and encourage inclusiveness, equality, and healthier practices in public hygiene on a global scale.”
