Sergey Milyakov, Russian Found Dead on Ship in Odisha, Third Such Death in Less than 2 Weeks

Sergey Milyakov, Russian Found Dead on Ship in Odisha

Sergey Milyakov, a Russian, was recently found dead on ship in Odisha. This is the third death of a high-profile Russian in less than 2 weeks, with the first two deceased men also found in Odisha. While a probe is continuing in the first two deaths, the third death comes as a shocker, and has sparked debate on high-profile Russians being eliminated due to their vocal opposition of President Putin.

The most recent deceased, 51-year-old Sergey Milyakov, was found dead inside a ship anchored at Paradip Port in Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha. While full details of circumstances around Milyakov’s death is still to be ascertained, it is being reported that he died due to heart attack, Indian Express states.

A port official was also quoted by Indian Express saying, “At around 4 am, the captain of the ship sent a message to the port authorities about the death of a crew member. As per standard operating procedure, the port health officer visited the vessel and confirmed the death.”

The most recent death comes little over a week after two unnatural deaths of Russians were reported last month. On December 22, Vladimir Bidenov was found dead at a hotel in Odisha, and on December 24, Russian lawmaker Pavel Antov was found dead in the same hotel.

The Facts of the Matter

Falling from a great height, being shot at, meeting a “random accident”, or suffering a cardiac arrest, these are just some of the ways oligarchs and high-profile Russians have died over years. Internet is filled with theories about how anyone who speaks against Russian President Vladimir Putin, often ends up meeting a twisted fate which ends in their death.

Russian National was at Ship

About over a week ago, two Russians were found dead at a hotel in Odisha in the period of two days. The deaths sparked a new debate about what could have caused the deaths of these men. While a probe is on in the matter, another Russian, Sergey Milyakov, has been found dead in Odisha, this time aboard a ship.

Heart Attack Speculated

While the exact circumstances around Milyakov’s death remains unascertained as of yet, cops are claiming that the 51-year-old Russian national died due to heart attack. A TOI report quoted an official involved in the investigation.

“We have come to know that he was one of the crew members of the cargo ship. The cause of his death would be known only after the postmortem. As per our preliminary investigation, he suddenly collapsed onboard the ship,” he said, as quoted by TOI.

As per the reports, the deceased was part of the crew on the MV Aldanah vessel, which was being used by a private Indian steel maker. The ship was scheduled for loading iron from Paradip port in Orrisa, when the incident took place.

The Russians Death Mystery

The death comes right on the heels of two similar deaths reported earlier last month.

On December 22, 61-year-old Vladimir Bidenov, allegedly died due to cardiac arrest.

Days later, on December 24, another Russian, Pavel Antov, “fell to his death” from the terrace of the hotel. Pavel’s death was looked suspiciously by common people, as he was critical of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, and had shared a post on social media regarding the same, only to retract it later.
