When confronted, the woman’s son confessed that his mother wanted to avoid paying debts, and hence laid the elaborate plan. The incident was reported from Indonesia, and the woman with a 4.2 million debt on her, is currently on the run.
The entire series of event, which may feel straight out of a bad Bollywood film, started when the woman Liza Dewi Pramita, requested a loan extension from a woman after unable to pay the 4.2 million debt. As the day of the deadline came inches closer, her son took to social media, and shared a shocking post, announcing his mother’s death. Not only did the son announced his mother’s demise, but also shared pictures of his mother’s dead body.
As per reports, Liza Dewi Pramita, had borrowed 4.2 million IDR (Rs 22,000) from Maya Gunawan. However, as she was not able to pay the sum, she sought a deadline extension. Maya agreed for the same, however when Liza did not meet second deadline, Maya found out that her son had shared the pictures of Liza’s death.
When she cross-verified the pictures, she discovered that the pictures were stolen from internet and morphed, to fake the death.
The Facts of the Matter
Loans are often tricky for both lenders and borrowers. While lenders are left frustrated over the borrower’s prolonged inability to pay back, borrowers often end up not being able to return the money. In such situations, borrowers often go to lengths to somehow get an extension. However, in a strange incident, a woman in Indonesia went as far as faking her death, all in a desperate bid to avoid paying the debt.

Woman Borrows IDR 4.2 Million
It all started when Liza Dewi Pramita borrowed a sum of IDR 4.2 million (Rs 22 thousand) from maya Gunawan. Both Maya and Liza knew each other from Arisan, a popular lottery system in the country where people put up small amounts and one person receiving the entire amount. The system can be likened to Indian system of ‘kitty’.
Liza and Maya never met each other. But when Liza asked for a sum of IDR 4.2 million, Maya spoke to people in the group to gather whether Liza is credible or not. On a condition that Liza would pay the sum before November 20, Maya agreed to lend her the decided amount.

Dying Around Loan Deadline Time
As one would assume, Liza failed to repay by the deadline, and sought another extension. Maya hesitantly agreed, and put a deadline of December 6. When Maya could reach Liza by December 6, she was worried, and on December 11, she was shocked to find out that Liza had died.
Maya came across Liza’s son’s Facebook status, where the announcement was made with pictures of Liza’s dead body. The picture showed Liza lying dead, with eyes closed and cotton in her nose.

Suspicion Leds to Truth Being Uncovered
While saddened, Maya also got suspicious when she found out that the last rites would take place at a place far away from where Liza lived.
When Maya took to internet and crosschecked the pictures, she was shocked to find out that the pictures were taken from the internet to concoct the story of death.
Later, Maya confronted Liza’s son about the pictures, and he admitted to the whole ordeal being laid by her mother to avoid paying debts. It has all come to an anti-climactic end, as Maya is still yet to receive her money, while Liza is on the run.
