Anupam Mittal Takes Dig At Ashneer Grover, Says “Anyone who humiliates others on show..”
Recently, Shark Tank India judge Anupam Mittal took a not-so-subtle dig at former judge Ashneer Grover and called out Grover while giving an interview with Film Companion. Claiming that a person who humiliates others on the show “does not deserve” to be in the panel of Shark Tank India judges. The Shaadi.com co-founder’s sly dig came at a time when many fans of Grover are infuriated at the former BharatPe MD’s absence in the show’s second season.
“Humiliating somebody is not acceptable and anybody who does that, does not deserve a seat on Shark Tank,” Grover said. “You might have a bad idea or a bad business or a terrible business plan but that doesn’t make you a bad person. So I, and I think everybody, draws a line at criticising your business and your idea and your plan and to give you a reality check and to show you the mirror because this is Season 2,” he added.
Mittal’s remarks on Grover comes after the latter made a name for himself thanks to his honest, and often labelled rude, remarks for the pitchers in the show. When he didn’t like an idea, Grover was often known to ask entrepreneurs to shut shop and not seek investments.
Shark Tank’s second season will livestream on SonyLIV on January 2, 2023.
The Facts of the Matter
After its successful run, Shark Tank India became a household name and its judges became superstars in their own right. Among the judges, Ashneer Grover, the former MD of BharatPe, was especially known to steal the limelight. With his no-sentiment objective analysis, Grover gave some “honest” feedback to entrepreneurs seeking investment. His honest feedback divided fans, with some being critical of his choice of words or the manner with which he spoke.

Now, Anupam Mittal, one of the judges from the show’s first season, has broken his silence on Grover’s absence in the show’s second season.
“You might have a bad idea or a bad business or a terrible business plan but that doesn’t make you a bad person. So I, and I think everybody, draws a line at criticising your business and your idea and your plan and to give you a reality check and to show you the mirror because this is Season 2,” Mittal said, in an interview with Film Companion.
“Humiliating somebody is not acceptable and anybody who does that, does not deserve a seat on Shark Tank,” Mittal, the chief of People Group said.

Peyush Bansal Also Speaks on Virtue of Respect
Peyush Bansal, co-founder of Lenskart, who was lauded for being respectful towards entrepreneurs seeking investment, also gave his two cents. “Nothing substitutes respect for the individual. I don’t think that’s negotiable”, adding that a person’s respect is thoroughly important on the show.
“Show must go on”: Vineeta Singh
Meanwhile, in another interview with ETimes, Shark Tank India judge Vineeta Singh said that although she would miss Grover, the ‘show must go on’.
“I am going to miss Ashneer Grover, I think he was good,” she said, and added, “The show is not going to have any impact. I feel season 2 is going to be phenomenal. And I believe that the show must go on.”

Shark Tank Season 2: Release Date
Shark Tank Season 2 will be live streamed on SonyLIV on January 2, 2023 at 10 pm. The show will feature the usual roster of judges Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar, Peyush Bansal.
Grover, who was the judge in Season 1, is replaced, by Amit Jain, co-founder of CarDekho.
