Great Indian Laughter Challenge Comedian Raju Srivastava Suffers Heart Attack, Admitted to AIIMS

Earlier on Wednesday, ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ comedian Raju Srivastava was reported to be admitted to AIIMS after suffering from a heart attack.

The comedian, actor was reportedly working out when he suffered the cardiac arrest, following which he was admitted to the Delhi-based hospital. While official confirmation about Srivastava’s health condition is awaited fellow contestant from Laughter Challenge, Sunil Pal, took to Instagram and shared a video where he claimed that Srivastava is out of danger.

“By your good wishes and love, he is completely fine and doing well. He is out of danger. Get well soon!”, Sunil Pal said in a video shared by himself on his Instagram.

For the unversed, Raju Srivastava is one of the most recognizable and successful stand-up comedians in the country. Prior to his rib-tickling presence at ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’, he was active in the Indian entertainment circuit.

He acted in films including “Maine Pyar Kiya”, “Baazigar”, “Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya”. In the first season of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’, he was the second-runner-up. He is currently the chairman of the Film Development Council, Uttar Pradesh.

The news comes weeks after popular actor Deepesh Bhan, died after suffering from cardiac arrest at 41. Bhan was known for playing comic roles in shows like ‘F.I.R.’, ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’, and others.

The Facts of the Matter

On Wednesday, popular stand-up comedian, actor, Raju Srivastava suffered a heart attack while he was working out at a gym. The comedian was rushed to the New Delhi based AIIMS and was given CPR to resuscitate his heart. According to reports, Raju was on the treadmill when he suffered the heart attack, and immediately collapsed. He was rushed to the hospital by his trainer.

Trainer Rushed Raju Srivastava To Hospital

As per an India Today report, Srivastava is undergoing treatment by the AIIMS team of Cardiology and Emergency Department headed by Dr. Nitish Nyay. As per the sources at hospital, his trainer rushed him to the hospital after he suffered the attack while working on the treadmill. He was revived by being given CPR twice.

Was in Delhi to Meet Leaders

Following the incident, Raju Srivastava’s brother Ashish was quoted in an India Today report saying, “Raju Srivastava, Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Film Board, had a heart attack while going to the gym. He was staying in Delhi to meet some of the big leaders of the state. He went to the gym in the morning and then went to another gym that day.”

“During the same time, he got a heart attack. He has been admitted to AIIMS. But he is back under control. After 5 minutes, the doctors allowed the relatives to meet his grandfather. Only after meeting him, they will be able to give rest of the information,” the statement further read.

Raju Srivastava’s Heart-Related Medical History

As per Times Now, Raju Srivastava has suffered from heart-related issues in the past, including multiple stents. As of now, he is under observation at AIIMS, and further course of treatment will be decided by the doctors at the hospital.

“Out of danger”: Sunil Pal Confirms

Meanwhile, comedian Sunil Pal took to Instagram and informed Raju’s fans about his health situations. Pal confirmed that Raju is completely out of danger, and is doing well. Pal also wished Srivastava well and hoped for his quick recovery.
